A Few Important Things Were On Her List

Smiling brightly at the clerk, she asked for directions to the lingerie department of the store. As she thanked her, the clerk complimented her antique engagement ring that she just received from her fiance. Thanking the girl, she went over to the escalator.

It was a short ride up to the third floor on the escalator. She saw the sexy lingerie on the mannequins as she stepped off the escalator. Hmm, soft green was her favorite color, but she had to find something spectacular in white for her wedding night.

But then she spotted the swim suits. She grabbed three white bikinis. I deserve a few new swimsuits for my honeymoon trip she thought to herself. She bought a blue suit as well.

She took all the garments into the dressing room. Plopping down her armful of garments, she tried them on and checked the fit in the mirror. Well, all those hours at the gym paid off she thought to herself. She stepped over to the piles of sexy white garments and thought of John her fiance. She went back to the dressing room and tried on several white nightgowns and checked her reflection in the mirror.

She walked away with bags filled with lovely garments. She sees some purses and stops to look. Although she already has a white evening purse for her wedding day, she purchases a hobo bag that is appropriate for the beach. She paid for the bag.

Then she remembered she needed some shorts and tank tops for the island wear. She picked up some white jeans and a couple pair of shorts too. I need blouses too. She headed for the table full of shirts for girls. She tried them on and they matched the other clothes perfectly.

Now she was thirsty. There was a restaurant right across from the department store. Plopping into a booth she sat back and enjoyed the air conditioning as she looked at the menu.

She ordered a chef salad and a coke from the young girl waiting on her. She could not eat hamburgers and fries till after the wedding. She was on a strict diet to maintain her dress size.

She was a perfect size four and did not want her wedding dress to be too tight. She smiled to herself as she thought of the big day ahead. John would love her gown and the bikinis an nightgowns she had bought too. The waitress told her what was available for dessert. She said she was full and thanked her and got up to leave.

She hummed the wedding march on her way to the car and as she drove home. She had many things to do before the wedding. As she walked into the house, she saw the sun flashing on her antique engagement ring. She ran in the house to show her mother all the new garments. She shouted out that she had found all the clothes she needed.
